NY Covici- Friede 1937 First Edition; First Printing Hardcover Fine with no dust jacket
Inv. #JS-0001. (Goldstone and Payne A7.a) First Edition, first printing, with all points. On page 9, lines 20 and 21 read "and only moved because the heavy hands were pendula." These nine words were removed in later printings, and the entire page reset. Bullet between 8's of page number on page 88, which was removed in all later printings. Top edge stained blue (later issues unstained), and printed by J.J. Little and Ives Co. (later issues printed by Haddon Craftsmen).; 12mo 7" - 7½" tall; 186 pages

Inv. #JS-0004. (Goldstone and Payne A12.a.) "First published in April 1939" on copyright page and no later printing. Some minor wear to pictorial dust jacket, with the folds reinforced on the reverse side that does not show on the outer surface. Stated "First Edition" on lower corner of front inside DJ flap, price ($2.75) unclipped. Top edge of book stained yellow, all edges untrimmed. Illustration of sheet music to "Battle Hymn of the Republic" on front and read endpapers. Beige cloth with line drawings in reddish-brown on lower half of front cover, spine, and rear cover. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall
